Dear Friend,
when I was 18, I left for the USA. It was my first real adventure into the unknown, with many more to follow. Since then, I’ve repeatedly tried to capture my experiences through journaling, with varying degrees of success. I’ve seen so many places and studied at different universities, but it wasn’t until I left France after completing my Master’s degree that it hit me with striking clarity: Life moves incredibly fast, and we’re left with so little time to actively reflect, to truly learn from our experiences, and to recognize and strengthen those precious moments of gratitude. I realized that something needed to change.
Practice wouldn’t cut it for me though. Pen and paper didn’t work out. The notes app of my smartphone was not up for the task. So I thought to myself: What if there was a well-designed app for journaling? Drawing on my background in computer science, I began developing a prototype. Sadly, even that was not enough. I didn’t need another glorified notes app. But what if my daily journaling could not only capture my experiences but also actively help me grow from them?
This question sparked the journey that became MeetYu.
What started as a personal solution has since evolved into a journey not just for me, but for our partners and fellow travelers who share this vision. We knew the transformative power of traditional journaling – the clarity it brings, the patterns it reveals over time, the self-awareness it cultivates. But we also recognized its limitations. Insights remain buried in pages. Patterns go unnoticed. Lessons learned are forgotten. We dreamed of evolving this ancient practice for the modern world, where AI could serve as a companion in your journey of self-discovery and growth.
What an exciting journey it has been! We’re incredibly proud to be KTH Innovation Pre-Incubator Alumni – knowing that only 10% of ideas from KTH’s circle are accepted into this leading engineering school and startup ecosystem in Europe. This validation from one of Europe’s most prestigious innovation hubs gave us the confidence to push forward.
Our path has been enriched by remarkable partnerships. We felt honored when Microsoft recognized our potential through acceptance into their Startup Hub program, though we ultimately chose to build our foundation with Amazon’s infrastructure. This decision proved pivotal – the pro bono partnership with Knowit has been instrumental in supporting our development, culminating in an AWS funding for our B2B solution. AWS also sponsored a proof of concept of our core AI RAG system, allowing us to build the intelligent foundation that will make MeetYu truly special.
After many iterations and countless hours learning from our users, we launched our professional, production-ready iOS version. Each piece of feedback, each user story, has shaped MeetYu into what it is today – a platform that honors the sacred nature of personal reflection while amplifying its power through intelligent technology.
